The On The Way mobility-on-demand service is launched in Moscow today

Since October 1, for the first time in Russia, the mobility-on-demand personalized transportation service “has been launched. Now the new On The Way mobility-on-demand service provides 30 new comfortable buses to carry passengers in the New Moscow – the remote district to the south of Moscow.

Now residents can order transport by selecting the desired stop in the mobile application. This is practically a taxi, only the cost of the trip is only 46 rubles (or just 0,5 euro)!

The service is easy in use. Passenger needs to download the Moscow Transport mobile application based on the principles of MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service), specify the starting point and the destination of a route, choose a suitable route, and pay for a trip online. Then a passenger just needs to wait for a bus at the stop, scan the QR code at the entrance and enjoy the comfort on the way.

At the first stage, buses will carry passengers to the Prokshinometro station and back, then there will be more destinationsadded.

The service is launched to continue the development of the transport accessibility of the New Moscow. Small settlements are located there far from each other, buses run less often than in the city center and the long distances make taxi too expensive.

“The new service is personalized and doesn't depend on a schedule and allows passengers to build flexible routes. The system of the service is quite simple: the user calls the bus through the Moscow Transport mobile app, indicates departure and destination points and receives a message with coordinates of the nearest place of order. The arrival of the bus is carried out within half an hour "In fact, it's like a taxi ride, but by bus,"- explained Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
