A motorcycle fest was held in Moscow in honor of the closing of the season

On Saturday, September 26, a motorcycle fest was held in Moscow in honor of the closing of the season. It was opened personally by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, Maksim Liksutov. The motor fest took place traditionally in the very center of the city — on the Garden Ring of Moscow. In honor of the closing of the motorcycle season, about 2,500 motorcyclists and 20 motorcycle clubs took part in the fest.

Participants of the motorcycle parade observed social distance and followed all traffic rules — there was not a single accident. The spectators did not have to be bored either — for them in Gorky Park, athletes from the Cascade group of the Moscow State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the Ministry of Emergency Situations staged a real show. Naturally, in compliance with all sanitary standards and recommendations of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing.

The motofest also delighted the passengers of the Moscow Metro. As many as 140 thousand passengers watched the broadcast of the festival on board.

«Today, about 100 thousand motorcycles are registered in Moscow and every year from 5 to 10 thousand new ones appear. At the same time, in 2020, the number of motorcycle deaths in road accidents decreased by 37%. For 8 months of this year with the participation of motorcyclists, there were 20% fewer accidents than during the same time last year. The number of injured in these accidents decreased by 18%, the number of deaths — by 37%. These are good indicators, but I would like the next season to be even safer. The interest in motorcycle culture in Moscow is growing, and such holidays are necessary to show that our city is for absolutely everyone, regardless of the type of transport», — shared Maksim Liksutov.
