For already eight years, with the help of subsidies, Moscow Transport supports taxi operators (and recently carsharing) to renew their vehicles refunding a part of purchase funds.
This year, despite of the pandemic, the Mayor of Moscow continued the payments. More than 115 taxi companies submitted applications for refund — 288 million rubles (3.3 million euro) to purchase more than 11 000 new vehicles. For eight years, the amount of subsidies totaled 0.9 billion rubles (> 10 million euro), and 36 527 cars were purchased.
Thanks to this support, 70% of city taxi cars were purchased with the direct financial support of the Moscow Government.
Since 2018, Moscow Transport helps carsharing operators as well — 3 companies have already renewed 3.7 thousand cars for 52.7 million rubles (nearly 600 thousand euro). This year they have applied for another 200 million rubles for 8.5 thousand new cars.
«The subsidy is the only state support for the pandemic-stricken taxi companies and carsharing operators. The Government of Moscow will continue to help the companies next year. It is essential for the development of demanded urban transport services» — shared the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maksim Liksutov.
