Having recently updated its smartphone application, Moscow Metro receives an international recognition for the best app for government.
The Moscow Metro app won a Platinum award at AVA Digital Awards 2021 in the App for Government nomination. The members of the jury appreciated the usability of the application, user-orientation, usefulness and creative approach in the design.
The Moscow Metro app received the Platinum award in the App for Government category, ranking among the biggest prize-winning companies: Microsoft, AT&T Business Multimedia Solutions, American Medical Association and others. But the main thing is that the users themselves appreciate our service. There are already 4.4 million users of the Moscow Metro app, – says Maxim Liksutov, Moscow’s Deputy Mayor for Transport.
The Moscow Metro shared the first place with Virginia Interactive, which developed a job search app during the pandemic for the Virginia Employment Commission (USA). The Moscow Metro app was the only winner from Russia.
The AVA Digital Awards were judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), which brings together experts from the fields of marketing, PR, design, and web development.
The Moscow Metro app has been significantly updated in November 2020, involving new design, chatbot, personal Troika card account, loyalty programme, city-scale route planner and other features. In December, the app’s chatbot Alexandra became available on WhatsApp, Telegram and Metro’s VK account.
