Moscow began to fine drivers for not wearing seat belts

Already 12,000 drivers have been fined in the first two months of 2021, as well as over 600 drivers using their phone while driving. Egor Chernov, Deputy Head of the Directorate for Photo and Video Recording of the Centre of the Traffic Organization, spoke about this.

Traffic cameras that detect the unfastened seat belt and the use of the phone while driving have been operational in Moscow since December 2020. «For a long time, distracted driving and non-use of seat belts on the roads of Moscow was not controlled, although both violations directly affected road safety.
