Moscow Transport provides power banks for low-mobility passengers

Since April 2021, the Passenger Mobility Centre provides free power banks for low-mobility passengers to charge their gadgets during the trip. Now, all our passengers will always be in touch.

The Passenger Mobility Centre has been operating in the Metro since 2013, providing low-mobility passengers with support on the infrastructure of the metro, MCC and MCD. Since November 2020, the Centre has been operating on trams and buses as well. In March 2021, the Centre received the Communitas Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility. As for now, more than 1 million passengers have already used the service.

It is not for the first time that Moscow Metro enhances charging opportunities for gadget users. Previously, the network equipped its stations with power bank rental units. The new Moskva-2020 trains, that entered service in October 2020, are equipped with 368 USB ports at every seat, compared to 72 ports in the previous model. USB ports are also installed in other types of Moscow’s urban transport, including Vityaz-M trams, e-buses, MCC, MCD, Aeroexpress and new buses.
