Moscow’s ticketing system continues its expansion to other Russian regions. Now transport card is being tested in the Yaroslavl Region (1.2 mn residents) using the selected focus group. The first stage of testing implies providing 1500 cards to the focus group and covers four regional public transport routes.
«We are in active stage of preparation to start testing Troika smart card in Yaroslavl. Closed tests have already been completed, software configured, and we are now at the stage of forming a focus group. In the very near future on several routes of the region that it will be possible to pay for travel with Troika transport card including Troika cards from other regions», — said Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov.
After the successful introduction of the Troika transport card beyond Moscow, more than 40 regions of the country became interested in adopting the city’s ticketing system.
