Troika smartcard to be launched in Vladimir Region

Moscow’s ticketing system is going to be launched in yet another region – Vladimir Region (1.3 million residents), popular tourist destination and part of the so-called Golden Ring of Russia. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, passengers will be able to pay with their Troika cards in 100 buses of Suzdal and Murom. At the moment, Troika smartcard works on the routes of Sergiev Posad and Yaroslavl – another cities included in the Golden Ring, and in the future it will work throughout the tourist route. At the moment, specialists are actively updating the software and conducting training for employees on public transport in the Vladimir Region. 

On 23 June, the project of integrating the capital's ticket system based on the Troika smartcard into the regions of Russia won the Transport Ticketing Award in the nomination Best Smart Ticketing Programme. By now, the Troika system has already been adopted by 6 regions.

“The Vladimir Region is popular with tourists from different regions of Russia, and soon it will be possible to pay for travel in the transport of Suzdal and Murom with any Troika smartcard. The launch of Troika is important not only for travelers, residents of the region will receive not just a convenient medium for paying for travel, but a progressive ecosystem that includes various services for passengers, as well as a convenient tool to analyze the route network and quiclykreect to increase transport accessibility in the region” — said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov.
