In the coming years, the transport of Russian capital is developing as an integral part of 'urban health ' - a city that helps its residents to save and restore health.
Moscow aims to significantly reduce the level of everyday transport stress for passengers. This is especially true for low-mobility groups of passengers who need a barrier-free environment and special assistance.
In 2020, the employees of the Passenger Mobility Center entered the first 4 routes of ground transport. Since the beginning of this service, the Passenger Mobility Center has accepted more than 1200 applications for surface urban passenger transport.
Since August 2021, staff of the Passenger Mobility Center has started serving 10 more regular routes. Routes pass through hospitals and important social centers. In total, inspectors help on 48 routes of surface urban transport. By the end of the year there will be more than 70 of such lines, which are areconvenient and in demand.
The Passenger Mobility Center has been operating on urban transport since October 2020. The service employees work closely with charitable organizations, social rehabilitation centers and public organizations, which helps to determine the most popular routes for people with disabilities. For 2.5 months of this summer, employees helped almost 9 thousand passengers. Services are provided free of charge. Assistance is providing according to the metro schedule — from 5:30 in the morning to 01: 00 at night the Passenger Mobility Center employees accompany the passenger regardless of the type of transport.
“We are happy to develop a barrier-free environment in Moscow. By the end of 2021, we plan to increase the number of ground routes where Passenger Mobility Center employees work up to 76," - said Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
