Moscow’s Troika card has expanded top-up options

Moscow’s Troika transport smartcard can now be topped up via the application Gosuslugi of Moscowthat provides public service for city citizens. Other top-up options that are also available to users are the Metro Moscow app, Sberbank Online and VTB Online as well as the website of the network. The new payment mode is fast and contactless, reports the city’s Department of Transport.

As the Department specifies in the report, to activate the payment, you must touch your card to the yellow validator at any metro station.

The Troika card top-up is an important option for many Muscovites, and now they have one more convenient tool to put money on a transport card. Thanks to online payment, the person can prepare for the trip in advance and he does not have to spend time to top up their Troika in a ticket office or a ticket machine, - reports the Department of Transport.

The ticketing system of Moscow has twice received the Transport Ticketing award (in 2020 and 2021) in the nomination Best Smart Ticketing Programme. At the moment, Moscow Metro is testing Face Pay (biometric payments) as well as virtual Troika card. These means of payment may be launched before the end of this year.
