According to the Moscow Department of Transport, the Troika smart card will be tested in several other cities of the Rostov Region, such as Novocherkassk, Shakhty, Azov and Volgodonsk. According to the Department, it is planned to launch the Troika card in the whole region in 2022.
«It is a unique ready-to-use service that makes the transport system more convenient for everyone. Rostov Region is one of the most popular tourist and business destinations, and a single ticketing system with Moscow will make the travel easier for passengers both in the region and throughout Russia», - said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
According to Maksim Liksutov, the joint decision of the Moscow Government and Sberbank will allow the regional authorities not to spend money on developing their own ticketing system, but to use a reliably working solution. The Troika card is easy to top up at any Sberbank ATM or via the Moscow Metro mobile app. Troika users also receive access to the loyalty program.
Apart from the Rostov Region, the award-winning ticketing system of Moscow based on the Troika smart card is available in Moscow and in a number of other regions and cities: Moscow Region, Tula, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Ulyanovsk, Kaluga, Yaroslavl Region, Perm Territory and Karelia.
