Electric buses were launched in the Moscow just 3 years ago, in 2018. In the meantime, this innovative surface transport has proved its efficiency. In three years they carried more than 140 million people – nearly all the population of the Russian Federation.
Nowadays, there are more than 850 electric buses in the capital of Russia. Besides, the Government of Moscow plans to launch nearly 150 more new electric vehicles until the end of this year. By 2022 there will be 1000 electric buses operating in Moscow.
Moscow electric buses perfectly deal with temperature extremes. For the third consecutive winter season, the innovative transport has been operating without any interruptions. The temperature range of its work is from -40 to +40 degrees Celsius. This is all because of the batteries that are equipped with a temperature control system, they do not allow vehicles to overheat in summer and freeze in winter. Moreover, electric buses are fully charged in 6-10 minutes which is enough to ride 40-50 km, thus they follow all the schedules and always arrive on time.
“We are actively developing the surface public eco-friendly transport. Passengers highly appreciate our electric transport. In three years, electric buses havetransported more than 140 million people. We will continue launching new electric buses. Starting this year, Moscow will buy eco-friendly transport, and by the end of the year there will be 1000 electric buses operating in the city”, – said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
