The issue of ecology is quite acute today: the greenagenda pushes the automotive market to reduce CO2 emissions and improve environmental friendliness.Ecology and health of Moscow citizens is one of the priorities of the Transport Complex. To achieve this goal, the city organizes a space where it is convenient to walk and move around on the convenient, eco-friendly transport. Therefore, we are actively developing the Moscow Energy project, which is aimed at making the transport more environmentally friendly and the air cleaner.
The development of electric transport directly depends on the development of charging infrastructure: the Department of Transport has developed a strategy for the development of an accessible network of charging stations. We plan to install new types of charging stations in the city, which will allow drivers of electric vehicles to recharge the car during the coffee reception –in 20 minutes. Thanks to the maintenance of the network throughout the entire life cycle, charging stations will meet international standards and will be timely updated.
Thanks to the support of the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, 41 electric charging stations of the new standard are already operating in Moscow. They cancharge 78 cars at the same time. They are integrated into the Moscow Transport application: drivers will be able to book and activate a charging session. At the beginning of 2022, the Department of Transport will install 200 charging stations more: work on their installation is actively underway. Before the end of 2022, another 50 modern fast charging stations for cars will appear in places where it will be most convenient to use them: near grocery stores and cafes, in the center and near residential buildings. 600 stations are planned to be installed by the beginning of 2023. Thanks to the maintenance of the network, charging stations will work reliably, be timely updated and adapt to current electric vehicle connectors, so that you can charge cars of any brand.
Seven years ago, there were only six models of electric passenger cars on the market in Russia. In 2021, there are already 16 of them, and in 2022, there will be at least 10 more models. Within the framework of the Moscow Energy project we continue to test electric vehicles together with their manufacturers before the delivery to the Russian market. BMW iX has recently passed the test — the car will appear in Russia in 2022. We also tested the Mini Electric — the car will appear in Russia next year. On the slow urban charging, a 100% charge of the car took only 2.5 hours.
There are benefits for owners of electric cars in Moscow: free parking throughout the city, charging at city stations and the opportunity not to pay the transport tax.
