1 year since the large-scale update of the Moscow Metro mobile app

According to the Moscow Department of Transport, the Moscow Metro mobile app has 1 million users connected to the personal account – a brand new feature launched one year ago when the app had a large-scale update.

The Department also outlined the recent innovations that users can find in the app: the launch of the Face Pay (fare payments with the help of facial recognition)and payments by MIR cards via the Apple Pay. Besides, a private account allows passengers to buy any tickets, transfer the balance from one Troika to another, learn the history of operations and passes, etc. More features that are new are on their way: a Virtual Troika for Google Pay and Samsung Pay, parking payments and tickets for commuter buses.

«The Moscow Metro mobile service is an example of successful digitalization in transport. It has already been recognized by 6.2 million users. Over the past year, we have made the application more easy to useand more functional. Passengers note the improvements and actively use the new features», - said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

«We will continue to introduce new technologies, making transport more comfortable and safer for passengers - the task has been set by the Mayor of Moscow», - concluded Maksim Liksutov.
