Before the start of the winter holidays, McDonald's and the Moscow Traffic Control Center are launching a joint action to remind children and adults about the importance of following the traffic rules.
From December 6 to December 19, young McDonald's visitors throughout Russia will be able to take a test on their knowledge of traffic rules – they have to point the phone at the QR-code located on the Happy Meal toys counter.
The goal of the project is to provide children and adults with the opportunity to learn and remember the traffic rules through the play. Over the past 10 years, thanks to the joint efforts of the Moscow Transport Complex and the State Traffic Inspectorate, it has been possible to achieve a reduction in child injuries. The number of children who died in road accidents in Moscow decreased by 4 times, and the number of victims - by 40%. The McDonald's and the Moscow Traffic Control Center initiative will help preserve the lives and health of children by showing the correct behavior on busy streets.
The test includes ten questions: after its pass, guests will be able to receive a prize from McDonald's in the form of a promotional code for one of the healthy products: Agusha puree, apple slices or carrot sticks. You can get a bonus by presenting an activated QR code and making a purchase for at least 59 rubles (=0.80$).
«Every day, thousands of families with children come to McDonald's enterprises throughout Russia. The company values its guests and launches similar initiatives to make meetings with McDonald's not only fun, but also useful», — says Anna Soshinskaya, the Senior Director for Corporate Communications and Sustainable Development at McDonald's in Russia.
«The safety of children and adolescents on the road remains a priority for the Moscow Traffic Control Center. We are installing new traffic lights, equipping pedestrian crossings, making safety islands for pedestrians, especially for children who go to school on their own. It is very important to remind children and their parents the most important rules of behavior on the roads once again before the New Year holidays», — noted in the press service of the Moscow Traffic Control Center.
