Remote top-up of Troika transport cards has been launched in Moscow buses

Moscow has launched the passenger service of the remote top-up of the Troika transport card. Now it is possible to activate the remote top-up of the Troika right on the buses of the 90 bus routes of the New Moscow. Prior to this, passengers had to activate the balance of Troika cards using special validators on the metro stations of the city.

The new passenger service is convenient: it is possible to top the Troika up through the Moscow Metro and the Moscow Transport mobile applications and on the Moscow Transport website. To activate the balance passenger needs to push a special button on the right side of the validator and the balance will be topped-upimmediately.

«The Mayor of Moscow has instructed to implement the activation service for remote top-up of Troika transport cards on the surface public transport of the city. Responding to the residents’ needs, we launched the service on 90 routes in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts because there are few metro stations in this district and the activation of remote top-up is highly demanded. Today the Troika balance can be topped-up directly alongside the bus. Having successfully tested, the new function will be launched on all city bus routes», - noted Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
