«We are working on creating new transport opportunities in the central part of the metropolis to make moving around the city faster and more convenient. This is relevant both for residents and for those who come from other districts of the capital or the region. In the context of the continuing population growth, we have a task to develop public transport so that passengers have additional alternative routes. Therefore, we are gradually creating new transport hubs, including on the site of previously opened metro stations. Today there is only an eponymous metrostation of the Line 10 in the Maryina Roscha area. This year, we will open the MCD-2 station, and in the future — the BCL and MCD-4. Thus, local residents will get more route options and the MCD-2 passengers will get a new interchange station. According to forecasts, in 2025, about 95 thousand people will use the new hub per day», – noted Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
Today at the Maryina Roscha MCD-2 the active construction of the entrance hall is carried out, works on engineering networks and the railway infrastructure preparation are underway. By the opening, there will be erected two platforms and covered underground passage, which will connect the MCD-2 stations and the MCD-4 in the future.
The MCD-4 is also scheduled to open in 2023. This is a unique and very important line for Moscow and the region. It will connect the southwest of Moscow region (Aprelevka) with the east (Zheleznodorozhny). The railway line will be 86 km long. There will be 39 stations on the diameter, 18 of which will be interchangeable with the metro and the MCC. The opening of the MCD-4 will improve transport services in 23 Moscow districts with a population of more than 2.5 million people. It will be possible to interchange to the metro from 18 stations of the MCD-4.
There are already launched two MCD lines – the MCD-1 Odintsovo-Lobnya and the MCD-2 Nakhabino-Podolsk. Thetotal number of stations – 60, 21 of which have interchange tometro and the Moscow Central Circle. The MCD-1 was opened in 2019, the length of the diameter is 52 km, 25 stations, of which 9 stations with interchanges to the metro. The MCD-2 was also launched in 2019.
