The Moscow Metro equipped the vast majority of its rolling stock with the Antison (Anti-Sleep) system, which automatically controls the driver concentration and ensures passenger safety during trips.
The network began to implement the Antison system since 2019. The program monitors the driver's condition in real time. If the system detects that a driver loses concentration, itimmediately alerts him or her with a sound and visual signal. The Monitoring Center is immediately informed, with specialists going through videos of every incident. If the loss of concentration is confirmed, driver is withdrawn from driving and undergoes medical examination. The data are transmitted to the operators of electric depots, where the driver is givenadditional instructions and the degree of liability is determined.
Currently, special equipment for the newest Moskva-2020 trains is being developed. The new equipment is supposed to intervene in the train control process and, if necessary, activate the braking system.
«One of the priority tasks of the Moscow Transport Complex is to ensure convenient and safe trips. This issue is under the personal control of the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. In 2019, we began to equip Moscow Metro trains with the Antison driver monitoring system - it is installed on almost all trains. Now we are developing equipment for the most modern Moskva-2020 trains that will allow the system to intervene in the train control process and, if necessary, activate the braking system - trips in the Moscow Metro will become even safer», - said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
