“The new device solves this problem by transmitting clear sound to a passenger”, – shared the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for transport, Maksim Liksutov.
The induction system for hearing impaired passengers was installed at the cash desk of the Komsomolskaya metro station of Lines 1 and 5. To use the service, it is enough to switch the device into T-mode. The cash desks equipped with an induction system are marked with a special sticker.
“The device was installed in the metro as part of a pilot project for a period of 1 month. If the service is in demand among hearing impaired passengers, the project will be expanded”, - added the Deputy Mayor.
Moreover, he added that in the Moscow Metro there is a SMS-hotline for hearing-impaired passengers. With it passengers may apply with any question and get a prompt reply about metro operation or ways to get to a certain location or point-of-interest, and in case of emergency it will call for assistance.
